The quiz starts immediately in the same conversation. Six questions: Prontera's middle castle = "Fadgridh!"; the monster dropping Old Card Album at 2% = "Joker!"; the monster dropping Bloody Blades = "Skogul!"; the price of 200 Fly Wings without discount = "12,000!"; the NPC giving Note Headphones = "Lucy". The last one has to be typed by hand - the town where the NPC Maewan lives - type Hugel (spelling counts, hugel also works). The Poring then admits a friend is holding your prize and points you to Saering, hiding in the bushes somewhere on the map.

A single wrong quiz answer ends the attempt and rolls progress back, and a retry costs 1 more Poring Hat - note that after paying it the conversation simply closes, so you have to talk to the Poring a second time to actually start the quiz again. Script discrepancies: the item list the Poring reads out says 50 Emperium, but the real check and the deduction are 20; the "You're missing..." line for the Headset prints a nonsense number (it subtracts from 100 instead of 1). Bring all items and the 3,000,000 Zeny before you start, as everything is taken in one go and only then does the quiz begin. Progress resets to 0 once Saering gives the hat, so the quest is repeatable. No class or level requirement.
