- Jeremy in Geffen has a friend who is good at making headgears, but has not been seen since he wandered into the Glastheim Sewers. Derek is indeed down there, screaming that everything hates him, yet still willing to make you a hat - if you first deliver a letter to his wife Jessica and survive her shopping list.
Walkthrough
Stage 1 — Jeremy
Location: geffen 128,118
Talk to Jeremy and answer "Not much, looking around." He tells you about his hat-making friend lost in the Glastheim Sewers.
Stage 2 — Derek
Location: gl_sew04 85,241
Find Derek in the sewers, pick "Hey, Jeremy said you make hats.", then "Purple Cowboy Hat!", then agree with "Yeah, sure." to carry his letter to his wife in Hugel.
Receive: Derek's letter for Jessica (dialogue only, no item)
Stage 3 — Jessica
Location: hu_in01 291,235
Deliver the letter in Hugel and answer "Sure." when Jessica asks you to fetch dinner ingredients for the children. She gives you her grocery list.
Stage 4 — Jessica
Location: hu_in01 291,235
Return with all the groceries and pick "Yep!" She takes them and promises to tell Derek you helped.

Stage 5 — Derek
Location: gl_sew04 85,241
Go back to Derek. He has heard from Jessica, thanks you, and finally names the crafting materials for the cowboy hat.
Stage 6 — Derek
Location: gl_sew04 85,241
Bring the crafting materials and answer "Yep!" Derek puts the hat together on the spot.

Notes
Trap in the dialogue: Jessica asks for "5 Trouts", but the script actually consumes 5x Mini Demon Wings. The file header says Hat[1], while a plain Hat is taken. This quest shares the pcsh_progress variable with the Sting Hat quest, so you can only run one branch at a time. After the reward pcsh_progress is set back to 1, which makes it repeatable - you restart directly from Derek and never need Jeremy again.
